Springfield RV, Camping & Outdoor Show kicks off 4-day run (photos)

WEST SPRINGFIELD — The great outdoors came indoors at the Springfield RV, Camping & Outdoor Show on Friday at the Eastern States Exposition grounds.

That’s where you’ll find more than 200 exhibitors, including almost 100 vendors, 70 campgrounds and more than two dozen RV dealers, spread out throughout the Better Living Center, Young Building and Mallary Complex.

The four-day event, billed as the largest RV show in New England, features campgrounds, dealers, suppliers, food, seminars and entertainment. It is the 61st year of the show, presented by the Pioneer Valley Chapter 8 family camping club.

Vendors offering specialty camping and outdoor products come from New England, New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

There’s plenty to see for the whole family, with entertainment for children and adults, including balloon-making by Shriners Clowns, Educational Animal Shows by Out of The Ark, Li Lu the Chinese Acrobat, The Magic of Michael Wald and Sounds of Science presented by Mad Science of Western Mass.

The Springfield RV, Camping & Outdoor show continues on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Admission is $10, $8 for seniors 60 and older, Disabled American Veterans and military, with children 12 and under admitted free. Parking at Eastern States Exposition grounds on 1305 Memorial Ave. is $5.
